I started fishing Cranford in the early 90's and was completely Carp mad! The past few years we've been super busy looking after Niki's folks and managing the business & getting the odd session on the bank in when im not surfing for those that now me if there's a wave in the ocean i'll be shooting off in the Bus. This year tho we've got a tad more time on our hands which has given me the opportinity to fish a bit more... Jackpot!!!
So the other day i thought id have a crack at the carp as i've maily been targeting the Tench & Silvers on the bottom pool, very chilled!
I found what seemed like the perfect fishing spot. It had that serene vibe, birds chirping, and the promise of a bountiful catch in the air. Plenty of Carp bombing about the surface.
Like riding a bike casting for carp!!! or fishing for squirrels as it turns out, i decided to fish the margins after losing my end tackle a couple of times, plenty of swearing and laughing at the fact i was chatting away to myslef, this is normally the main advice i give to new residents "fish the Margins". had 7 carp out in that session a couple of mad Ghosties, for those that know!!! theyre bonkers mad and love a good scrap! one fully scaled mirror and a couple of commons, the one above was the pick of the bunch! All on Sticky Baits Krill!
So, dear fellow anglers, if you're thinking of venturing into the world of carp fishing after a break, be prepared for the unexpected, embrace the chaos, and remember – sometimes, the most unforgettable catches are the ones that leave you in fits of laughter.
